20 years ago RADIO ELECTRONICA went on air as one of the first independent radio broadcasts in Jena in 1999. At the end of the 90s, when radio shows like "hr3-Clubnight", "Der Club" (Antenne Thüringen), "House Music Factory" (Jam FM), "Rave Satellite", (Radio Fritz) or Radio Evosonic dominated the techno and house radio landscape, the four music-loving DJs Nicola Candelaria, Jan Hobrack (EOISM / Pulse Drift Recordings), Robert Witschakowski (The Exaltics / Solar One Music) and Mikk (Thrillbeatconstuction Recordings) decided to create their own show. The programme quickly developed into a platform where regional and national artists from the electronic music scene can present themselves and exchange ideas. RADIO ELECTRONICA claims to be always on the lookout for new influences, trends and artists when it comes to electronic music. With a constantly growing fan community, RADIO ELECTRONICA is still a permanent institution in electronic music in Jena and beyond the city limits. In addition to the latest scene trends and record presentations, studio guests are a large part of the programme. So it's no coincidence that on the occasion of the 20th anniversary many long-time companions of the show and regional artists like Metaboman, Lydia Eisenblätter, Less, The Exaltics, Flemming Bassedow, TKR, Mathias Kaden, and many more have contributed a track for the anniversary sampler.

With this compilation we not only want to celebrate the long-standing existence of the radio show, but also present an excerpt from Jena's diverse and great electronic music scene.

RADIO ELECTRONICA: Every four weeks on Saturdays from 19:00 to 24:00 hours in the Open Channel Jena on UKW 103.4 / Kabel 107.9 and via Online Stream can be heard.
